段落是展开一个主题思想的一组句子 。换句话说 ， 一个段落展开一个主题 。
A paragraph is a group of sentences that develops one main idea. In other words, a paragraph develops a topic.

2. The narrative paragraph
段落可以用几种方式组织起来 。按照时间顺序把句子和思想排列起来 ， 称为按时间顺序展开 。
主要有两种类型的文章 ， 需要按照时间顺序展开：叙述和过程描写 。
A paragraph can be organized in several ways. Ordering your sentences and ideas in order of time is referred to as chronological development.
There are principally two types of writing that require chronological development: narrative and process description.

3. The descriptive paragraph
描写物理对象时 ， 按照空间组织写作；其中句子和细节按照被描述对象的位置来安排 。描写段落需要清楚地呈现被描述对象的位置 。
Physical description is written in spatial organization in which sentences and details are arranged according to where the objects being described are located. A descriptive paragraph needs to give a clear presentation of the locations of the objects being described.

4. The expository paragraph
解释或分析一个主题的段落 ， 就是论说段落 。段落主题句中的中心思想 ， 是句子中陈述有关主题的想法或者态度的词或者词组 。这个想法或者态度经常被称为概括陈述 。
A paragraph that explains or analyzes a topic is an expository paragraph. The controlling idea in the topic sentence of a paragraph is the word or phrase in the topic sentence that states an idea or an attitude about the topic. This idea or attitude is frequently referred to as a generalization.
