Chinese skier Zhang Mengqiu won her second gold here in women\'s giant slalom standing on Friday at Beijing Paralympic Winter Games.

Zhang clocked a winning time of one minute and 55.12 seconds over two runs, 5.83 seconds ahead of Mollie Jepsen of Canada. German racer Andrea Rothfuss finished third in 2:01.91.

Chinese para skier Zhang Mengqiu made history at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games by clinching China\'s first alpine skiing gold in the women\'s super-G standing event on March 6. It was the second medal for Zhang, after her silver in the women\'s downhill standing event on March 5.

The Chinese paralympian added another silver medal in the women\'s super combined standing competition on March 7.

张梦秋夺冠是中国代表团在本届冬残奥会高山滑雪项目中的首枚金牌，也实现了中国队在冬残奥会高山滑雪项目上金牌零的突破。在她的家乡河北省景县，家人们一直关注着她的比赛，并为她的胜利而欢呼。

连续有奖牌进账，荣耀的背后，是常人难以想象的付出。

2002年出生的张梦秋，14岁时，被河北省残联选中，成为一名高山滑雪运动员，如今是河北乃至中国残奥高山滑雪项目的领军人物。

张梦秋第一次穿上滑雪板站在雪道上便不断地摔跤。即使在体能训练后，双腿已经疼到无法走路，她依然坚信，“人生能有几回搏，现在不搏何时搏。”

因患小儿脑性瘫痪，张梦秋的反应速度比其他人略慢一些。这无疑为她在训练中增添了更多难度，别人一个小时就能学会的动作，对于张梦秋来说，需要花两三倍的时间才能掌握。而当记者问起之前遇到过什么困难时，张梦秋思索了很久，却说道“还好吧” 。

Zhang Mengqiu admits she was a slow learner when she first hit the slopes six years ago. Her determination and persistence to succeed, however, paid off at the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games last Saturday.

Zhang, who has motor dysfunction as a result of cerebral palsy, was introduced to Alpine skiing in 2016 and selected to the national team a year later. Because of her physical disadvantage, Zhang\'s reaction speed is slightly slower than others and needs to put in extra hours in practice to master the sport\'s skills.
