陈求之的水墨创作以传统书法元素为先导 ， 以汉字的结构形体之美为基本构架 ， 以现代水墨结合现代艺术构成作为辅助 ， 深度挖掘所选择的书写内容 ， 以字、词、句当中所包含的丰富而深刻的文化内涵为旨 ， 进而表达创作者不与人同的艺术理念与思想情感 ， 创造性地回归到字、词、句本初的内涵与形象表达 。 其在纵横捭合间书写著生命激情 ， 打破多年以来的传统书法程式 ， 笔意相联恣肆磅礴 。 他的书写章法布局险、奇、绝胸有成竹 ， 放笔直书 ， 笔随心写间完成笔墨一次又一次新的重构 ， 从而达到连他自己都意想不到的自由奔放、酣畅淋漓的艺术效果 ， 随机生发而又充满灵性 。

Born at the foot of Sunrise Mountain in Wangjiang County Anhui Province in 1965 Chen Qiuzhi studied regular script with his father in his childhood. In the early 1990s he went to Shenzhen in pursuit of oil painting trying to perceive Western art in a unique way. With the ambition of promoting classical Chinese culture and aesthetics in 2006 he renovated an old courtyard in Dafen Village into Sunrise Art Center where he after years of negligence of calligraphy picked up ink brush and rice paper to explore the charm of Chinese characters. His works tend to be large and full of vigor and passion – “Characters of Passion” as he called them.
